Suzanne, Liz and Ann formed the ‘Friends of Manchester Road Park’, FOMaRP, on the 4th March 2009 with the aim of improving the Manchester Road Park, Heaton Chapel for the benefit of the community. Ann has now left the group and we are very happy to welcome Heather and Max.
Since our formation, we have had two benches, three bins and a noticeboard installed, £10,000 worth of new play equipment, with more on the way. We have had four Fundays which have been fantastic community events as well as raising money for the park. We have had a bat and bird box building event as well as a bulb planting day, a planting day and we continue to hold monthly litter picks.
The park is now a well loved green space at the heart of our Heaton Chapel community and we wish to thank everyone who has made this possible.
We will continue to improve our park where we can and welcome any help that anyone can give.
